Leslie Alexander Geddes
1921-2009

We are saddened to announce the death of
Leslie Geddes, Showalter Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Biomedical Engineering and one of the pioneers of our field. He died on October 25, 2009.
Leslie Geddes and his contributions to biomedical engineering will be remembered for many years to come. He will be greatly missed.

You are invited to participate in our first AMA-IEEE EMBS Medical Technology Conference on Individualized Healthcare to be held 28-30 March in Washington, DC. Please see additional information here.
The conference will be inaugurated by a keynote lecture at the evening reception on March 28. The following two days will feature plenary and poster presentations focusing on grand challenges and the innovative technological solutions necessary to realize the practical application of Individualized Healthcare for improving the quality of patient care.

A new award recognizing undergraduate excellence in biomedical innovation
The NCIIA and IEEE-EMBS welcome submissions from undergraduate students at all NCIIA member colleges and universities for the new BMEStart competition. Applications close 14 May 2010
